Have you ever experienced an error in Power Automate Cloud Flows and had trouble figuring out what went wrong? It can be extremely important to know when your flows fail and to quickly figure out what caused the error in order to maintain business continuity. In this video, you will learn how to use the Configure Run After feature, which is available for every action and flow in Power Automate, to isolate errors and receive instant notifications when something goes wrong.

The video shows you how to use the Run history and analytics to check for errors that have occurred in the last 30 days. However, these are not proactive actions and may not give you instant notifications or provide the reason for the error. To proactively notify the owner, Power Automate sends out an email that states which flows have failed and how many times they have failed. However, it doesn’t give you details about the error message or which action caused the error.

The Configure Run After feature allows you to receive instant notifications when an error occurs and also gives you details about the error message and which specific action caused the error. The video demonstrates how to set up a simple flow to trigger an error, and then shows you how to use the Configure Run After feature to catch the error and send an email notification to the flow owner.

Additionally, the video shows you how to use expressions to get the error message and link to the specific flow run where the error occurred. Finally, the video demonstrates how to use Try Catch Finally Scope blocks to handle errors for multiple flow actions. With these tools and techniques, you can quickly and easily identify and resolve errors in your Power Automate Cloud Flows, ensuring that your business continues to run smoothly.
